COCKTAILS IN THE CITY: SUMMER EDITION
Cocktail week comes but once a year and that’s just not good enough. Roaming around the city trying out the best cocktails and finding out about new cocktail bars and restaurants is great fun. However having all of that gathered under one roof (they’re actuall canopies) is much better. After the success of the last sell out event, Cocktails in the City returns with the Summer Edition now that it is actually here.
On Friday 29th and Saturday 30th July 2016, Cocktails in the City will once again gather twenty-five of London’s most exciting bars beneath the green canopies of London’s Bedford Square Gardens for a sunny (even if the sun stays away the cocktails will brighten things up) two-day celebration of the city’s unique and diverse drinking scene.
This cocktail weekender brings to you a carefully curated eclectic array of London’s finest bars who will set up shop, pop-up style in an elegant and leafy Georgian square. From exclusive institutions to elusive speakeasies and brand new haunts, each bar will be vying for the limelight, offering unique cocktail tastings, interactive demonstrations and mini golf.
Cocktails in The City will feature a huge variety of London’s bars in pop up form: from Soho’s quirky boutique basement bars and Dalston’s dirty tequila joints to Mayfair’s elegant 5* hotels and Shoreditch’s award winning institutions. Cocktails in the City is truly the only place where all of London’s drinking scenes can be found in one place, and at the one time. So whether guests are Hackney Hipsters, West End Sipsters, Free Drink Scroungers or First Class Loungers, Cocktails in the City will have something for everyone.
Produced by one of London’s most exciting events companies B&H Group (The Blitz Party, Prohibition, The Chap Olympiad) guests are greeted with an immersive and interactive experience. Expect to sample incredible cocktails from London’s top bars, taste unusual and rare ingredients, lend a hand to the world’s finest bartenders in interactive masterclasses and watch talented mixologists put their personal twists on new summer creations.
Additionally to the 25 pop-up bars, Bourne & Hollingsworth will be providing a special series of Spirited Sermons throughout the day, interactive spirit masterclasses hosted by ambassadors and master distillers. Spirited Sermons will take London’s cocktail enthusiasts and aficionados on a journey that explores such subjects as healthy drinking, the origins of rum and Mayan Balché. In addition, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen are on board to provide tasty sustenance and a roster of live music and DJs.
