New rooftop venues are popping up across the capital. Some are good and some are balconies. Skylight at Tobacco Docks is thankfully not a balcony, which you will discover once you climb the 8 floors of the converted car park top floor.
Now we’ve been to quite a few converted car parks and the one thing we haven’t really loved about them is the fact they are still car parks just minus the cars. Thankfully the team behind Skylight had the foresight to dress up theirs with faux lawns, 4 bars, plenty of bench seating, beautiful San Tropez inspired weather proof sofas. And to further add to the atmosphere they went against the trend of crazy gold and have given us all the chance of feeling like we’re at a country club with 3 areas for a round of croquet and a set of petanque courts, that’s boules pits to those of us raised around the area.
No self respecting Rooftop would be complete without street food. So without further a do here is what you can soak up the copious amounts cocktails and prosecco with. First up is the well renowned We
Serve Humans, serving up their famous Chairman burger. Next up is the Greek Street Food brand, Yiro with their tantalising souvlaki. And last and by far not the least is Krapow with their servings of North Thailand Streetfood. You have to try their signature dish the Krapow as it will keep you coming back even if it’s raining.
All in all this is a great spot to bring your friends down to and create whatever vibe you want. All it really needs is a DJ and for the local residents to be ok with all night into morning rooftop parties. But hey we’re going to right that about every single rooftop in London that we write about this summer.
